Indian gaming studio SuperGaming has announced a successful $15 million Series B funding round, positioning the company for global growth. The round was led by a mix of strategic investors and venture capital firms, with returning backers including SkyCatcher, AET Japan, and BAce Capital.

The new funds will be used to expand SuperGaming's presence, starting with Latin America and the Middle East. The company's flagship game, Indus Battle Royale, will spearhead this international rollout, beginning with Latin America through a partnership with Brazilian esports group Loud.GG.

SuperGaming's focus on global expansion is bolstered by its proprietary AI-powered backend infrastructure, the SuperPlatform. Built on Google Cloud, this platform supports both Web2 and Web3 gaming elements, offering multiplayer infrastructure, analytics, monetization tools, and social features. It is tailored for low-end devices and integrates blockchain technology for secure asset ownership and interoperability across games.

The SuperPlatform is currently offered globally, with a focus on emerging markets. One of SuperGaming's early Web3 experiments, Tower Conquest: Metaverse Edition, was launched on Polygon, demonstrating the platform's versatility.

SuperGaming is also pushing into Web3 and is building a Layer-3 blockchain with B3 GameChain. This blockchain aims to provide features such as asset continuity and digital ownership across titles. The company's CEO, Roby John, stated that the goal is to empower developers globally with technology to bring their visions to life.

The funding round saw strong participation from existing investors and was oversubscribed. The funds will also support hiring top-tier talent in game design, engineering, and publishing to support this global scaling effort and enhance development capabilities.

SuperGaming's portfolio has already crossed 200 million installs, and its most ambitious title, Indus, has surpassed 9 million downloads, winning Google Play's 2024 'Best Made in India' award. The company's investors, including Bandai Namco 021 Fund, acknowledge the team's deep understanding of India's gaming ecosystem and the potential for global success.

With the new funding, SuperGaming plans to launch Indus Battle Royale internationally, scale its presence and revenue potential, and invest in talent, develop new IPs, and expand the SuperPlatform, its in-house infrastructure that helps developers build and scale up multiplayer games.
