New 2026 Bestune Pony Mini Electric Vehicle Launched in China
The 2026 Bestune Pony, a compact and stylish mini electric vehicle, has officially been launched in China. The unveiling took place at FAW Bestune's Fan Cooling Festival in Changchun, Jilin Province, on July 27, 2025.
This urban-focused electric vehicle comes with modest performance and multiple battery options, offering real-world ranges between approximately 122 km and 222 km. The vehicle is equipped with a front-wheel-drive setup and a synchronous electric motor that produces about 20–27 kW (27 hp) and 85 Nm torque, reaching a top speed of around 100 km/h.
The 2026 Bestune Pony offers several battery options, including 9.4 kWh, 10 kWh, and 13.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The higher-end models boast a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 222 km, making it competitive with other small urban EVs like the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and Baojun E200.
In terms of dimensions, the Bestune Pony remains the same as the current model, with a length of 3,000 mm, width of 1,510 mm, height of 1,630 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,953 mm. The vehicle retains its distinctive boxy design as a three-door, four-seat micro electric vehicle.
The new model also introduces a refreshed interior, with the addition of a Cocoa Brown colour option, and features upgrades such as a 10.1-inch smart central control screen (on higher trims), smartphone Bluetooth key functionality, passive entry, OTA entertainment system updates, DeepSeek intelligent assistant, a driving recorder, and a low-speed creep function.
The Bestune Pony is priced at approximately 34,900 to 45,900 yuan (4,800-6,300 USD) in China, making it an affordable city EV with zero tailpipe emissions, easy maneuverability, and a lower price compared to larger electric vehicles. FAW Bestune Pony deliveries will start on July 28.
According to China EV DataTracker, Bestune sold 17,405 units in 2025, indicating a strong demand for this compact electric vehicle. Bestune, formerly known as Besturn, is the mainstream brand of FAW, but specific details about the company's nature or industry are not provided in the text.
