Sygnum Bank Partners with Sui Foundation, Expanding Access to Institutional Investors

Sygnum Bank, a Swiss-based digital asset bank, has partnered with the Sui Foundation to offer regulated custody, trading, and lending services for the Sui token. This move is significant for institutional investors as it provides secure, compliant, and comprehensive access to the Sui blockchain ecosystem within a trusted Swiss banking framework.

The partnership is designed to broaden market reach, enabling institutions to integrate Sui tokens into portfolios safely and seamlessly. This facilitates greater adoption of a blockchain designed for speed, scalability, and mass adoption.

Regulated Access and Investor Protection

Sygnum operates under Swiss financial regulation, offering investors protection and compliance confidence that is often a prerequisite for institutional adoption of digital assets. Client Sui token assets are kept off the bank’s balance sheet, minimizing counterparty risk and aligning with stringent investor protection standards.

Liquidity and Yield Options

Beyond custody and trading, the upcoming staking services offer token holders the ability to generate yields, while Lombard loans provide flexible liquidity solutions collateralized by Sui tokens.

Sygnum's Role as Sui Foundation’s Banking Partner

Mathias Imbach, Sygnum's co-founder and group CEO, expresses excitement about supporting the Sui Foundation in developing a future-proof, opportunity-ready treasury. This partnership underpins the trustworthiness and strategic alignment behind these services, helping to support the growth trajectory and treasury needs of the Sui ecosystem.

Expanding Institutional Participation

The Sui Foundation states that broadening institutional access to the Sui ecosystem further expands its reach to the global institutional investor community. Sygnum's offering includes institutional-grade custody, spot and derivatives trading, and staking services.

Sygnum Bank completed the rollout of Sui integration into its regulated platform in July 2025. Professional and institutional investors, including banks, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals, can hold and transact Sui within a Swiss banking framework.

Sui: A Blockchain for the Future

Sui is a layer-one blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, a team of former Meta engineers. The Sui blockchain is designed for speed, scalability, and mainstream use, making it an attractive option for institutional investors.

Sui is also among the early adopters of BTCfi, a segment of Bitcoin-linked DeFi, enabling bitcoin holders to participate in lending, trading, and earning activities without compromising asset security.

It's worth noting that Sygnum Bank's offering is not limited to Sui. Recently, Franklin Templeton has received CSSF nod for a fully tokenized Ucits fund on a public blockchain, marking another step forward in the convergence of traditional finance and digital assets.

In summary, Sygnum’s regulated service suite removes many traditional barriers for institutional investors to access, hold, trade, and leverage Sui tokens within a compliant, secure banking environment, thus facilitating broader institutional adoption and investment in the Sui blockchain.

  1. The partnership between Sygnum Bank and the Sui Foundation, a move significant for institutional investors, combines finance, business, and technology, as it offers regulated custody, trading, and lending services for the Sui token on the Sui blockchain.
  2. Expanding institutional participation in the Sui ecosystem, Sygnum Bank's regulated platform now includes Sui integration, enabling professional and institutional investors to hold and transact Sui tokens, thereby bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets through the intersection of finance, business, and technology.
