New Electric SUV and Hyundai Veloster's Chinese Name Unveiled

Beijing Hyundai has globally debuted its first dedicated electric SUV, the Elexio, while the Chinese market has also seen the arrival of the Audi Q6 and the unveiling of the Hyundai Veloster coupe, known as the Feisi in China.

The Audi Q6, with a starting price of around $74,000, and the Hyundai Mufasa, an exclusive SUV model for China, are now available in the region. The starting price for the Mufasa is yet to be announced, while the Feisi comes with a price tag of approximately 170,000 yuan.

The name "Feisi" (飞思) is a Chinese translation of the Veloster, meaning "Flying Thought" or "Flying Imagination." This name choice reflects the car's sporty and youthful image, symbolizing speed, creativity, and innovation. The name was selected specifically for the Chinese market to appeal to local consumers with its positive imagery and memorable branding.

"Feisi" is composed of two Chinese characters: 飞 (Fēi), meaning "fly" or "flying," symbolizing speed, agility, and freedom; and 思 (Sī), meaning "thought," "idea," or "imagination," conveying creativity and intelligence. Together, "Feisi" represents a dynamic combination of innovative design and forward-thinking spirit.
