In a significant move within the semiconductor industry, Infineon Technologies has announced that Alexander Gorski will be taking over as the Chief Operations Officer (COO), effective from October 1, 2025. His appointment comes following the retirement of Rutger Wijburg, who has been instrumental in building a solid foundation for growth, efficiency, and resilience at Infineon.

Rutger Wijburg, born in 1962, joined Infineon in 2018 and has been a member of the board since 2022. Over the years, he has overseen major projects such as the high-volume production module in Kulim and the Smart Power Fab in Dresden. His retirement, which will take place at the end of the current fiscal year on September 30, 2023, marks the end of a successful tenure at Infineon.

Alexander Gorski, a graduate of business administration, is currently the Executive Vice President and Head of Frontend Operations at Infineon. In his new role as COO, he will be responsible for Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality Management. Gorski, born in 1972, will officially join the Infineon board on October 1, 2023, and his first mandate as COO will last for three years, which is customary for initial appointments at Infineon.

Gorski will be taking over from Wijburg, who has played a crucial role in shaping Infineon's global manufacturing network. His retirement comes at a time when Infineon is looking to further strengthen its position in the semiconductor industry.

Infineon, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a leading provider of semiconductor solutions. The company's products can be found in a wide range of applications, from automotive to industrial technology and consumer electronics. With the appointment of Alexander Gorski as COO, Infineon is set to continue its growth trajectory, leveraging his extensive experience in operations and management.

The transition from Wijburg to Gorski as COO is expected to be smooth, with both executives working closely together in the coming months to ensure a seamless handover. Infineon's shareholders and employees wish Rutger Wijburg a happy retirement and look forward to the leadership of Alexander Gorski in his new role.

Alexander Gorski's appointment as the new Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Infineon Technologies, effective from October 1, 2023, signifies a significant shift in the company's finance and business operations, particularly within the semiconductor industry. As a member of Infineon's board since 2023, Gorski, with his considerable experience in operations and management, is poised to leverage technology for strengthening Infineon's position in various sectors, including automotive, industrial technology, and consumer electronics.
