Hyundai's updated Ioniq 5 boasts an extended driving range.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5, a pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) market, has undergone a significant refresh, introducing new features, updated designs, and expanded battery options.

Starting with the exterior, the Ioniq 5 now boasts a V-shaped finish, redesigned bumpers, a larger rear spoiler, and an increased length of 20mm to 4.655mm. The new-generation ccNC infotainment system screen remains, but the bezel is now black. Additionally, the refreshed Ioniq 5 includes an interior and exterior Vehicle-to-Load system.

Inside the cabin, the driver can enjoy features such as remote parking assistance, steering wheel hand detection, lane maintenance assist, intelligent remote parking assist, and parking collision prevention assist (front, side, and rear). The steering wheel design has been renewed, featuring interactive lights, and the wireless smartphone charger has been moved to the top of the console.

The Ioniq 5's electronic systems are updated remotely via over-the-air, ensuring the vehicle is always up-to-date. The second-row seats can be remotely folded, providing additional flexibility for cargo space. To reduce in-cabin noise, the vehicle features extra acoustic insulation in the rear motor area.

The refreshed Ioniq 5 also offers two main battery options: the Standard-Range Battery (63 kWh) and the Long-Range Battery (84 kWh). The Standard-Range Battery offers a range of approximately 240 to 245 miles for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) SE Standard Range trim. The Long-Range Battery, on the other hand, offers up to about 310 to 318 miles for RWD trims.

AWD versions with the larger battery have a combined 320 horsepower and an estimated range between 250 and 280 miles. Wheel size is a significant factor in range variation — bigger wheels typically lower the range.

In Portugal, the Premium version of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with a range of 440 km is available starting from €43,000, while the Premium Plus version with a range of 570 km starts at €49,900.

The 84 kWh variant features 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, and a third version, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV 530km Vanguard Plus, offers a range of 530 km and features 20-inch aerodynamic wheels.

The Ioniq 5 by Hyundai also offers physical buttons on the center console for various functions, including heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, and parking assistance.

The refreshed 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is set to continue its lead in the EV market, offering improved range, innovative features, and a sleek, modern design.
