High-performance E-Enduro bike, boasting a potent Bosch power system and premium Fox Factory suspension, comes with a hefty price tag.
The US-American cult brand Yeti has entered the e-mountain bike scene with its latest creation, the electric racing bike Yeti LTe. Founded in 1985, Yeti has been producing mountain bikes for over three decades, and the LTe is a testament to their expertise and innovation.
The LTe features a newly developed carbon frame, powered by Bosch CX and CX-R motors. It comes with three builds, each offering a unique blend of technology and performance. The prices range from £9,499 to £12,999, catering to various budgets.
Frame and Protection
The LTe frame includes Vectran plies, a material similar to Kevlar, for extra protection in critical areas like the chainstays, top tube, down tube, and chainstays. Rubber guards on the chainstay and seatstays provide additional protection, ensuring the bike can withstand the rigours of off-road riding. Yeti has also added downtube guards, which serve as an access door to the battery and internal cables.
Suspension and Anti-Squat
The LTe's suspension has been tuned to provide a more linear curve throughout the travel, enhancing control and responsiveness. Its anti-squat is lower than any of Yeti's other e-bikes due to full-fat drive units, ensuring optimal pedalling efficiency.
Drivetrain and Brakes
Yeti's LTe provides options for both mechanical and electronic drivetrains, with grommets and clamp closures at frame entry. The mid-level T3 model uses SRAM's X0 Transmission and Bosch's Gen 5 CX motor, with Maven Silver brakes and an 800Wh battery, priced at £10,999. The T4 Race model, on the other hand, is equipped with Fox Factory suspension, SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission, and Maven Ultimate brakes, priced at £12,999. The top-end Race model, uses the CX-R motor, while the other two builds get the CX motor.
Comfort and Handling
The LTe comes with integrated mudguards designed not to interfere with suspension movement. It also features a Yeti carbon riser bar for a more upright position, ideal for tackling steep terrain.
Technology and Display
The Kiox 400C is the screen of choice for the LTe, providing essential ride data at a glance. The Sixfinity linkage progression rate can be tuned to three settings: 25%, 30%, or 35%.
The Yeti LTe is available with a 29in or MX wheel setup, offering versatility for different riding conditions. With its advanced technology, robust design, and exceptional performance, the Yeti LTe is set to redefine electric mountain biking.
