Hannan Lake-based HPQ Silicon commences production of HPQ ENDURA+ cells, specifically for 18650 and 21700 formats.

HPQ Silicon Inc. Launches Production of High-Performance Battery Cells

HPQ Silicon Inc., a leading innovator in silicon-based materials, has commenced the production of its HPQ ENDURA+ battery cells. These cells incorporate Novacium's GEN3 silicon-based anode technology, designed to deliver improved battery performance and longevity.

The initial production includes cylindrical 18650 and 21700 cells, with the first batch expected to be delivered by the end of September 2025. Technical datasheets showcasing the cells’ performance, dimensions, and brand design have been completed in collaboration with the cell manufacturer and are available to prospective customers and industrial partners.

These HPQ ENDURA cells boast a lifespan approaching 1,000 full charge-discharge cycles, as validated by independent testing. The cells also offer increased energy density, with the 18650 model providing 4,000 mAh and the 21700 model offering 6,000 mAh.

With the global lithium-ion battery market expected to grow from US$15.92 billion to US$45.6 billion by 2033, HPQ Silicon Inc. is positioning itself in the high-performance lithium-ion battery market, addressing industrial demand for longer-lasting and higher-capacity energy storage solutions.

HPQ collaborates closely with Novacium SAS, its French R&D partner specializing in silicon-based anode materials for batteries. Additional technology partnerships include PyroGenesis Canada, which supports HPQ in developing related green and low-cost manufacturing processes. HPQ also holds exclusive North American licenses from Novacium for hydrogen production technologies (METAGENE™) and waste-to-energy processes, which may further enhance their industrial ecosystem and sustainability credentials.
