The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Google prepares to reveal significant updates for its Gemini AI assistant and Android XR during the I/O 2025 event. Scheduled for May 20-21, the main keynote will take place on May 20 at 10 am PT.
Google's Gemini 2.5 updates are set to make the assistant more personalized and capable. The key expected enhancements include the Gemini 2.5 Deep Think, a more advanced reasoning capability that delivers faster, usable, and highly advanced performance on complex problem-solving tasks. This update is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers and targets complex problem-solving and creative research tasks.
The assistant is also powered by the 2.0 Flash model, designed for fast, agentic responses and better performance for everyday tasks. Users can access expanded context windows and file upload features, supporting deeper and more contextually relevant interactions.
Gemini for Home is another major update, replacing Google Assistant on smart home devices. It offers more powerful, natural, and context-aware interaction, supporting complex commands, linking to real-time Google Search for up-to-date information, and delivering personalized content.
Improved code assistance is also on the horizon for Gemini Advanced users, allowing them to upload entire code repositories for comprehensive coding help.
