The 15th annual International Gold and Diamond Conference (IAC's "Eye on the Prize") is set to take place from July 14 to July 16, 2025, at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City. This year's conference, with the overarching theme of "Eye on the Prize: Towards Continuing Improvement in Practice and Artistry", will bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss and promote responsible practices and innovation in the jewelry, precious metals, and stones sectors.

The conference will feature a special focus titled "Ghana and Gold", highlighting Ghana's growing significance in global gold production and its cultural and economic ties to gold. Notable speakers include Ghanaian historian Ivor Agyeman-Duah, who will deliver the keynote titled "Ghana and Gold: Path of the Antill".

Responsible sourcing, transparency, sustainability, and ethical issues in materials and craftsmanship will be at the forefront of discussions. Ute Decker, an artist-jeweler and advocate for environmental stewardship and ethical sourcing, will receive the 8th Responsible Practice in Jewelry Leadership Award. David Block, CEO of Sarine Technologies, will be honoured for his contributions to diamond traceability and transparency.

The conference will also delve into gold investment trends, cultural restitution, and the role of gold in financial security. Innovation and modernization in diamond traceability and data-driven transparency will be a key topic, with presentations from industry leaders such as Laurent E. Cartier of the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) and Nicolas Luchsinger, CEO of Buccellati.

Collaborative discussions involving international stakeholders such as The World Jewelry Confederation, The World Gold Council, the World Bank, mining companies (e.g., Newmont Corporation, AngloGold Ashanti), and auction houses like Heritage Auctions will take place throughout the conference.

An Awards Ceremony and Reception on July 15 will honour leaders reshaping the industry with a focus on ethics, sustainability, and innovation. The conference serves as a vital forum for dialogue, networking, and advancing progress in the jewelry and precious metals industries, emphasising responsible practice, artistry, and innovation.

Notable speakers at the conference include Gaetano Cavalieri, President of the World Jewellery Federation (CIBJO), Edward Bickham of the World Gold Council, and Emefa Cole, the Ghanaian-born, London-based jeweler and inaugural Curator of Jewelry, Diaspora, at London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A).
