Germany's Customs Crack Down: 7 Arrests in Black Work Raid

Customs officers across Germany recently conducted a large-scale inspection targeting black work and illegal employment. The operation, led by the Financial Control of Black Work of the Customs (FKS), resulted in seven criminal proceedings and 20 cases requiring further investigation.

On Monday, June 16, 2025, over 260 employees were interviewed, and numerous business records were checked. The inspections focused on ensuring employers had registered their employees with social security, that no one was unlawfully receiving social benefits, and that all workers had necessary work permits and residence titles. Additionally, inspectors verified that minimum wages, including branch-specific rates, were being paid.

The FKS, which regularly conducts such inspections, employed around 2,800 customs officers from all main customs offices during this operation. The Career Day of the Main Customs Office Landshut is scheduled for September 20, 2025, at the service point Plattling. Registration is possible via [email protected]. For more information about the Berufstag, contact the Hauptzollamt Regensburg press spokesperson Michael Lochner at [email protected] or phone 0941-2086-1502.

The recent inspections highlight the customs' commitment to combating black work and illegal employment. The Career Day in Landshut offers an opportunity for interested individuals to learn more about career prospects in the customs service.
