Genesis Unveils 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 with Enhanced Performance and Luxury Features
Genesis Motor Company is set to release the 2026 GV70 and its electrified counterpart, the Electrified GV70, with production taking place in Montgomery, Alabama, and Ulsan, Korea. These luxury SUVs offer a blend of power, innovation, and refinement, set to make their North American debut in the first half of 2025.
The 2026 GV70 comes equipped with two gas engine options: a 300-hp 2.5L turbocharged inline-four and a 375-hp 3.5L twin-turbo V6. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD, delivering impressive responsiveness and improved Terrain Mode for better surface adaptability.
Interior upgrades in the 2026 GV70 include a new 27-inch OLED display, seamlessly combining the cluster and infotainment system in a sleek horizontal layout. The SUV also features Genesis Digital Key 2, high-quality materials such as carbon fiber trim in higher trims, all-around parking sensors, auto-dimming side mirrors, acoustic glass for noise reduction, and luxury seating.
Meanwhile, the Electrified GV70 pushes the boundaries of electric performance. With dual electric motors (one on each axle), the all-electric SUV delivers a combined 429 hp and 516 lb-ft torque. The vehicle's range has been significantly boosted with an 84-kWh battery, providing an EPA-estimated range of approximately 263 miles for the base trim and slightly less for higher trims. The Electrified GV70 can tow up to 3,500 pounds with an available trailer hitch.
Inside, the Electrified GV70 boasts premium Nappa leather upholstery on the Prestige trim, upgraded dashboard and headliner finishes, heated rear outboard seats, rear window shades, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, active noise canceling, automated parking, and a head-up display.
Both the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 showcase Genesis' commitment to its "Beauty of White Space" design principle, with a redesigned exterior featuring a revamped G-Matrix Crest Grille, multi-lens array (MLA) headlamps, a robust front skid plate, extended air intakes, and redesigned 19- and 21-inch wheels. The Electrified GV70's grille houses a sleek, integrated charge port.
Genesis is also expanding its standalone retail network, with four new U.S. locations and 30 Canadian distributors. The company aims to reach 60 locations across the U.S. and Canada within three years.
Upgraded advanced driver assistance systems in both models include diagonal parking and improved lane-following functionality. The interiors of the GV70 models also offer enhanced convenience features, such as voice recognition for HVAC and window controls, improved over-the-air update capabilities, and a digital key system extended to the second row.
The GV70 lineup offers ten exterior colours and four Nappa leather options, including Ultramarine Blue, while the Electrified GV70 offers six exterior hues and two interior palettes. The 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 will be available at retailers starting in early 2025.
