Future of Engineering Initiative Launched at ICE HQ

The Future of Engineering initiative was launched on October 25, 2023, at the London headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). The event premiered two documentaries and brought together prominent industry figures to discuss the future of engineering.

The initiative, presented by St James's House in association with the ICE, explores two key aspects of civil engineering. 'Putting the Smart into Cities' delves into the development of sustainable, smart cities and encourages debate on urban living challenges. 'Inspiring Future Generations' offers insights into the engineering industry through interviews with leaders and newcomers.

The launch event was attended by industry leaders and featured a Q&A with ICE Vice President David Porter. Porter highlighted the crucial role of civil and infrastructure engineering in society, involving diverse skills and professionals. Richard Freed, Founder of St James's House, expressed excitement about launching the initiative at the global home of civil engineering.

The Future of Engineering multimedia initiative was launched to spark conversation and inspire the next generation of engineers. With two insightful documentaries and industry support, the initiative aims to shape the future of civil engineering. The initiative is hosted at www.engineeringtv.org.
