Ready, Set, Click! Fujifilm X Half Arrives In-Store

The suspense is over, folks! After Fujifilm's announcement of the X Half, the retro compact camera is now readily available at several retailers across the globe. At the stroke of late June, online stores like B&H, Adorama, Amazon, and Moment in the US have listed the X Half as in-stock, despite the official Fujifilm US website still being unresponsive.

In the UK, the X Half is shipping from Amazon UK, Wex Photo, and London Camera Exchange. Meanwhile in Australia, Amazon lists the camera as temporarily out of stock but Camera Warehouse has some limited models in stock.

Proving its popularity, the Fujifilm X100VI, an earlier retro compact camera from Fujifilm, still remains elusive more than a year after its announcement due to its viral success. This scarcity has extended to its alternatives, such as the X-M5. But fear not! The Fujifilm X Half seems to buck this trend, with multiple retailers offering this nifty digital camera.

However, with only three remaining black models, 17 silver, and three charcoal units on Amazon US, it's clear that the X Half is a crowd-pleaser. What sets the X Half apart from trendier models like the X100VI is its smaller build and lower production value.

I had a peek at the X Half at the B&H Bild Expo, and to be honest, it didn't feel as refined as more premium options like the new X-E5. But let's not forget, the X Half is designed for budget-conscious shooters who love a good retro feel, including a film mode that reveals images only when a 'roll' is complete.

Compared to the X100VI, the X Half skimps on high-end features like RAW photography and burst shots. However, as the resurgence of retro compacts among amateur shooters continues, and the X Half's wallet-friendly price tag compared to the X100VI appears promising, it's likely to be a bestseller.

A Quick Rundown:

It looks like the Fujifilm X Half is experiencing less of the stock challenges faced by the X100VI and X-M5. As of June 2025, it’s available at multiple retailers globally, including B&H, Adorama, and Amazon, and shipping or in-stock at notable UK and Australian stores. However, half a dozen black and charcoal models on Amazon US are almost gone, hinting at strong interest from camera enthusiasts.
