Forty-eight ambitious ventures chosen for ReVolution's competition endeavors
At the upcoming 25th international event on immersive technologies, a selection of emerging XR projects will be exhibited. This noteworthy grouping will be housed in the ReVolution pavilion, showcasing the winners of the 2023 ReVolution competitions.
Since its inception in 1999, the mission of the hosting website has been to celebrate and promote virtual and augmented reality, as well as those who create it. The ReVolution competitions have been instrumental in this endeavor, showcasing pioneering uses of XR each year. The ReVolution pavilion is renowned as the avant-garde area of the exhibition.
This year's competition features projects in four categories: ReVolution #Research, for university research projects; ReVolution #Startups, for young technological companies; ReVolution #Experiences, for production studios of immersive content; and ReVolution #Students, for schools and student projects. Selected projects are afforded an exhibition space, where they have the opportunity to interact with industry leaders and international experts. Over 200 projects competed, and 48 were chosen for the anniversary edition.
The international variety of the selected projects is a hallmark of the event. Projects hail from France, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Japan, Taiwan, The Netherlands, and numerous other countries. The ReVolution competitions provide a global perspective on XR innovation.
Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of experiences. They will have the opportunity to journey through historic monuments and time, assume the role of real or imaginary characters, explore futuristic Social VR experiences, test experimental hardware, and more. The topics covered by the selected projects are diverse, with the #Research category promising the most thought-provoking experiences.
All projects selected for the ReVolution competitions will have an exhibition booth during the professional days, April 12-14, 2023. Additionally, they will be vying for a prize at the our website Awards ceremony, which takes place on Thursday, April 13, 2023, and is only accessible to Full Pass owners.
