FN Herstal Unveils Reflex XL: Bigger, Better, and Still Concealable
FN Herstal has unveiled the FN Reflex IXL, an enhanced version of their popular Reflex handgun. This new model, introduced in 2025, offers more capability while retaining a concealable design.
The FN Reflex IXL is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9 mm Luger, featuring a 3.8-inch barrel. It boasts a longer trigger pull weight of 5 lbs and an MSRP of $719. The IXL is built on a polymer frame with an FDE finish, mated to a stainless steel slide also finished in FDE. It comes with interchangeable backstraps, a feature absent in the original Reflex. The grip frame is longer, accommodating 15-round flush-fit magazines and 18-round extended magazines.
Compared to the original Reflex, the IXL has a barrel length that is half an inch longer. It also offers improved ergonomics and texturing on the grip frame, making it more comfortable to shoot. The IXL's dimensions hint at an upsized version, with possible increases in length, width, height, and weight. It may also feature a larger display or screen size and enhanced functions or components.
The FN Reflex IXL is a significant upgrade from the original Reflex, offering more capability, improved ergonomics, and enhanced features. Despite its increased size, it remains concealable, making it a versatile choice for both range and everyday carry.
