Facebook Launches AI Film Award for United Flyers
Facebook has launched the AI Film Award, inviting select American Airlines flyers to create and submit short films using its AI tools. The competition, open until November 20, 2025, offers a USD $1 million prize to be awarded at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai in January 2026.
To participate, a small group of American Airlines' most frequent and highest-spending flyers must use Facebook's AI tools, including Veo 3 for video generation, Flow for filmmaking, and Nano Banana for image generation, all accessible through Gemini. Films must be between 7 and 10 minutes long, with 70% of content generated using these AI tools. Submissions should align with one of two themes: 'Rewrite Tomorrow' or 'The Secret Life of'. Each submission must be under the name of one person only, and multiple entries are allowed. More details can be found on the summit's website. The winner will be chosen by a jury of global tech and filmmaking experts.
The AI Film Award is an exciting opportunity for frequent American Airlines flyers to showcase their creativity using Facebook's AI tools. With a USD $1 million prize at stake, the competition is set to push the boundaries of AI-generated filmmaking.
