Expertise in comprehensive solutions for precision machinery, technology, and farming sectors
PTx Makes its Debut in Argentina, Boosting Precision Agriculture
PTx, the technology and precision agriculture division of AGCO, has made its entrance into Argentina with a mission to revolutionize farming practices in the country. This joint venture between AGCO group and Trimble aims to offer integrated, interoperable technologies that optimize machinery performance, improve resource use, and empower data-driven decisions.
PTx's solutions encompass a wide range of offerings, including precision planting systems, autonomous technology, crop protection solutions, and farm management platforms. The brand is a leader in the market for sowing products, guidance products, and selective spraying with weed seeker.
In Argentina, PTx will work in close collaboration with AGCO’s key equipment brands such as Valtra, Massey Ferguson, and Fendt. This collaboration ensures that precision agriculture features are native and optimized for these machines, providing an advanced precision agriculture experience to farmers.
PTx technology is factory-installed on AGCO’s leading brands, but it also offers retrofit precision ag products and solutions through dealers. This means that older or mixed fleets can also benefit from advanced planting, spraying, and autonomous capabilities.
Roberto Manzano, the PTx Regional Manager Argentina-Precision Planting/Trimble, has concluded that the brand's strategy in Argentina aims for better efficiency, savings, and homogeneous and adapted solutions for each crop, area, and farm. Valtra, a part of the PTx family within the AGCO group, offers Argentine producers a complete solution, aided or enhanced by PTx technology.
PTx plans to continue conducting tests and deepen the incorporation of technology in Argentina. The brand intends to explain daily how they can help Argentine farmers and consolidate itself as the first choice for farmers in the country.
Recently, PTx presented innovations such as a Symphony test bench, a selective spraying Vision camera, and a bench to show recirculation in the tank during the AAPRESID Congress, organized by the Argentine Association of Direct Sowing Producers.
Under the leadership of Brian Sorbe, who brings deep precision ag expertise, PTx aims to expand precision ag sales and lead innovation in retrofit solutions and farmer education, targeting $2 billion in sales by 2029.
In summary, PTx is AGCO’s smart farming technology hub, powering their precision ag ecosystem in Argentina. It enhances direct sowing and precision farming through both factory integration with AGCO’s flagship tractor and equipment brands and retrofit innovations, forming a core part of AGCO’s strategy to provide cutting-edge, interoperable precision ag tools for modern agriculture.
