Expansion of Global Payment Services by FastSpring in India through UPI, facilitated by EBANX

FastSpring, a leading e-commerce platform for software businesses, has announced the integration of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in India. This move follows FastSpring's integration of Pix in Brazil, demonstrating their commitment to providing local payment solutions for their clients.

With this integration, software sellers on the FastSpring platform can offer UPI as a payment method at checkout, providing Indian customers with a seamless, familiar, and trusted payment experience. The integration is supported alongside FastSpring's full suite of global payments, taxes, fraud protection, subscription management, and more.

Rashmi Satpute, Country Director of India at EBANX, stated that FastSpring's integration of UPI empowers their customers to reach one of the largest and most dynamic digital economies in the world. Jeremy Waxman, Vice President of Payment Operations of FastSpring, added that this integration is a major step forward for their customers selling into India.

UPI is the most dominant payment method in India, accounting for 55% of all digital transactions in the country. FastSpring has integrated UPI in India through a partnership with EBANX. In addition to UPI, FastSpring has also integrated Hipercard and Elo in Brazil, as part of their commitment to supporting high-growth emerging markets.

The addition of UPI provides Indian customers with another seamless, familiar, and trusted payment option. FastSpring's expansion of local payment support in their Spring 2025 product release is part of their ongoing efforts to enable digital businesses to sell globally with local precision.

Rashmi Satpute and Jeremy Waxman will co-present a panel at the 8th EBANX Payments Summit in Mexico City, discussing the importance of localizing the payment experience for unlocking cross-border growth in India's digital commerce. The panel will take place from September 17 to 20, 2023.

FastSpring sellers can enable UPI directly from their FastSpring account with no additional technical work required. This integration allows digital businesses to tap into the vast potential of India's digital economy, offering their customers a familiar and trusted payment method that is integral to the Indian digital transactions landscape.
