Artemis Positive Future Equity Fund Launches in EU, Focuses on Sustainable Investing

Artemis Investment Management has announced the launch of the Artemis Positive Future equity fund in the European Union. The fund, with the ISIN LU2342621906, aims to invest in companies that are actively driving economic and social transformation within their industries.

The fund is a concentrated portfolio of 35 to 45 long-term positions in companies, managed by a team of specialists in sustainable investing: Craig Bonthron, Neil Goddin, Jonathan Parsons, and Ryan Smith. These experts previously managed the Aegon Global Sustainable Equity fund (IE00BYZHYJ00) at Aegon Asset Management.

The Artemis Positive Future equity fund meets the conditions of Article 9 of the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). It aligns by focusing on companies driving economic and social transformation, engaging actively with investee companies on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues, and measuring impact through comprehensive criteria. Artemis publicly discloses its sustainability assessment and engagement approach, indicating a structured impact-driven investment methodology consistent with SFDR's requirements for environmental and social goals.

As of August 2025, some of the top-performing companies in the fund include Motorola Solutions (3.7%), Verisk Analytics (3.5%), Standard Chartered Bank (3.2%), and Wolters Kluwer (3.1%). However, it is important to note that the Artemis Positive Future Fund was announced for closure in August 2025, effective 5 September 2025, due to weak investment performance and commercial non-viability.

Craig Bonthron, the fund's manager, believes that the best long-term growth opportunities lie with innovative small and mid-sized companies tackling the most significant sustainability challenges. The fund's focus on mid-caps provides diversification in a sector dominated by growth and quality strategies investing in large-caps.
