Sono Group N.V. Advances Solar Revolution with Proprietary Technology

Sono Group N.V., a leading innovator in the field of solar technology, is making significant strides in its mission to revolutionize mobility by making every vehicle solar. The Dutch company, trading on the OTCQB under the ticker SEVCF, has recently secured €1.46 million in funding from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) for the development of its proprietary solar technology.

With a total of 50 patents granted or filed, Sono Group N.V. boasts an impressive portfolio, with 42 of these patents dedicated to its proprietary solar technology. This strong growth in patents helps the company maintain its position as a pioneering leader in the field of solar technology innovation.

The funds received from CINEA will be used solely for the SEAMLESS-PV project activities, as agreed with the project partners and the European Commission. The SEAMLESS-PV project, granted by the EU Commission, aims to develop automated PV manufacturing equipment over four years.

Sono Group N.V. will provide its knowledge and expertise in vehicle integrated photovoltaics (ViPV) via the application of this technology into three different vehicle architectures. The company's focus includes advancing its proprietary solar applications, such as SEAMLESS-PV, which leverages innovative solar foil technology for integration into various surfaces.

The first installment of €532,441 from the funding was received by Sono Group N.V. during its ongoing #savesion campaign. The support received is expected to help the company achieve its target of about €100 million in new or increased reservation deposits, investments, or other sources of funding. The company has also received payment commitments from its Community and other sources worth approximately €45 million during the campaign.

The SEAMLESS-PV project is actively progressing as of mid-2025. The company recently provided updates on its market traction, collaborations, and future plans at the Emerging Growth Conference in July 2025. While specific details about the SEAMLESS-PV project's funding were not revealed explicitly, Sono Group's participation in this prominent investor event and discussions about collaborations indicate ongoing strategic partnerships and financial backing aimed at advancing their solar technology projects.

In addition to its proprietary solar technology, Sono Group N.V.'s B2B solar business continues to generate revenue, with the Company's proprietary solar technology being integrated into vehicles from other manufacturers.
