Etsy & eBay Roll Out AI-Powered Tools to Boost Seller Experience

Etsy and eBay have both rolled out new AI-powered features to assist sellers in the U.K. and the U.S. These tools aim to streamline daily tasks, improve product visibility, and enhance the overall selling experience.

Etsy's latest updates include an AI-driven writing assistant that drafts personalized replies to buyers using shop details. Additionally, the platform is developing a new policy violations page and redesigning its community hub with AI-powered search for sellers. Etsy has also updated its dashboard to provide real-time notifications for shipping orders, customer messages, and listing management.

Etsy's AI tools are focused on helping sellers complete daily tasks faster. The platform is set to introduce more AI-powered tools to aid sellers in promoting products and running their businesses. One such tool is a listing title tool that generates search-optimized, buyer-friendly product titles. Etsy's chief product officer, Rafe Colburn, is likely to develop more AI-based seller tools that integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI-powered shopping features to enhance product discovery and fulfillment of buyer demand.

Meanwhile, eBay introduced a feature in August to help sellers respond to buyers' inquiries using AI. The platform also integrated AI-powered capabilities into its Seller Assistant tool to oversee inventory and analyze demand patterns.

Both Etsy and eBay are leveraging AI to improve the selling experience for their users. Etsy's AI tools focus on streamlining daily tasks and enhancing product promotion, while eBay's AI helps sellers manage inventory and communicate with buyers more efficiently. These developments indicate a growing trend in e-commerce platforms utilizing AI to support and empower their sellers.
