Ethereum-based Verifiable Data Infrastructure receives $10M pre-seed funding via Vlayer
In the ever-evolving world of Ethereum, a significant development is on the horizon with Vlayer's Solid 2.0. This update, aimed at enhancing the Solidity programming language used in Ethereum smart contracts, is set to bring new functionalities to boost efficiency, security, and developer productivity.
Vlayer's Solid 2.0 is a verifiable data infrastructure for Ethereum, designed to make zK-technology more accessible and user-friendly for Solidity smart contract developers. The project has garnered support from prominent investors such as a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX), Credo Ventures, and BlockTower Capital, along with notable Web3 contributors who have joined as angel investors.
One of the key features of Solidity 2.0 is Time Travel, which allows the execution of historical data on-chain. Another exciting addition is Teleport, enabling smart contracts to run across multiple EVM-compatible networks. These features promise to revolutionise the way data is handled and smart contracts are executed within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Vlayer's Solidity 2.0 is currently in an open alpha phase with a testnet, indicating that it is approaching a more widely accessible stage. For web proofs, developers can utilise zkPass or Reclaim Protocol, while ZK Email is applicable for email proofs. Storage proofs can be facilitated by options including Axiom, Lagrange, or Brevis.
The fundraising for Vlayer was completed across two tranches, with the first tranche raising $43 million in February and the second one raising $7 million in August. Vlayer's platform is the first to integrate all the mentioned functionalities (Web proofs, email proofs, storage proofs) in a holistic approach to key verifiable data sources.
The mainnet and token launch for Vlayer are expected no sooner than 2025, marking an exciting milestone in the evolution of Ethereum's programming environment. As more details about Solidity 2.0 emerge, developers and enthusiasts alike will be eager to explore the potential of this innovative update.
The forthcoming Solidity 2.0, a creation by Vlayer, is garnering attention in the finance and technology news, promising to revolutionize the finance sector by implementing innovative features such as Time Travel and Teleport for efficient and secure smart contract executions in Ethereum. Given the support from notable investors like a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX), Credo Ventures, BlockTower Capital, and Web3 contributors, this advancement in Solidity programming language is eagerly anticipated by the investing community.
