Kobelco Opens New European Headquarters in Lelystad
Kobelco, a leading manufacturer of crawler excavators, demolition excavators, and crawler cranes, has embarked on a new chapter in its growth and development history with the opening of its new European headquarters in Lelystad, Netherlands. The move, which took place in mid-July 2025, follows nearly two years of construction.
Located conveniently near the A6, the new headquarters at Minervaweg 95 offers state-of-the-art facilities that support both current operations and future expansion. The strategic choice of Lelystad was influenced by its growing infrastructure, dynamic business environment, and a 3,500 square meter outdoor demonstration area for machine testing and operation under real conditions.
The new headquarters houses a state-of-the-art technical training center, complete with modern classrooms, a fully equipped workshop, an exhibition area, and a conference center. This training center reflects Kobelco's commitment to knowledge exchange, continuous learning, and strengthening partnerships within its network.
The warehouse at the new headquarters is designed to reduce lead times and ensure faster and more reliable delivery of components. Additionally, an expanded, highly efficient spare parts warehouse has been integrated into the overall building concept and optimized for supply chain performance. Advanced inventory systems and optimized logistics in the spare parts warehouse are expected to contribute to the improvement of Kobelco's ability to deliver higher added value to its dealers and end customers.
Makoto Kato, CEO of KCME, expressed his pleasure about embarking on this new chapter on the European market. He stated that the move is intended to secure and accelerate strategic progress, support further expansion, and strengthen Kobelco's operational base.
