According to Kirk Reineke, Managing Director of Neu-Isenburg's utility company, the city has already invested in charging infrastructure in recent years. The utility company operates six fast-charging stations, each with a charging capacity of up to 150 kilowatts, providing a total of twelve charging points. These fast-charging stations are exclusively operated with certified green electricity.

In the first half of 2025, approximately 278,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity were charged at these fast-charging stations. This energy equivalent to around 14,000 kilometers of environmentally friendly travel, underscoring the growing use of electric vehicles in the city.

Around 237,000 kWh, or the majority, of the electricity was charged at these fast-charging stations. Conversely, approximately 41,000 kWh of electricity were charged at normal charging stations. With fast charging, vehicles can be charged sufficiently for further travel in 20 to 30 minutes.

The utility company's expansion plan includes creating infrastructure for charging when it's needed. Reineke stated that they aim to expand their network of charging stations as needed in the future to meet the increasing demand.

Local businesses, including hotels, are also responding to the growing need for EV charging points. For instance, Hilton Frankfurt Gravenbruch and B&B Hotel Frankfurt-Nord now offer electric car charging stations for guests.

System integrators like elexon, based in Neu-Isenburg, have also contributed to the expansion of charging infrastructure. They have installed approximately 24,000 charging points across Germany and Europe at over 900 locations, specializing in large-scale e-charging parks for vehicle fleets.

Given the installation of charging points by system integrators like elexon and the embrace of EV infrastructure by local accommodations, the demand and supply of EV charging points in Neu-Isenburg are projected to grow substantially by 2025.
