Mauritius Media Library in Wiesbaden Offers More Than Just Books

The Mauritius Media Library, or Mauritius Mediathek, in Wiesbaden, Germany, is a hub of activity and innovation. This library, which houses the Wiesbaden Media Center studio, offers a variety of services beyond just books.

On your visit, you'll find Internet stations freely accessible on all three floors, allowing you to browse the web at your leisure. A digital stele is also available, displaying updates for your convenience. Two information monitors are installed within the library, providing updates about the City and Music Library, keeping you informed about events and happenings.

The library's modern RFID system makes checking out, renewing, or returning media a breeze. There are seven self-checkout stations for your use. If you don't have a device, don't worry - the library allows patrons to use their own devices on-site.

For those who need a laptop, the library offers laptops that can be borrowed with a valid library card. However, it's important to note that the gaming consoles at the library are specifically intended for the use of young people. Four gaming consoles are available, offering regular gaming opportunities for young people outside of regular library hours. These gaming consoles are separate from the self-checkout stations or the return stations for media.

Media can be returned at any time using the external return station on Hochstraße. It's worth mentioning that the gaming consoles do not use the modern RFID system for checking out, renewing, or returning media.

The library also provides free Wi-Fi for on-site use, ensuring you stay connected throughout your visit. Additionally, the library has a self-return station in the entrance area for media returns, making it easy for you to return your borrowed items.

The Wiesbaden Media Center studio is open for bookings and use on Saturdays from 2 pm to 8 pm. You can contact them to book or inquire further via phone or email provided by the Media Center Wiesbaden e.V.

For precise opening times of the library or other facilities in the building, checking the official local city or library website may be necessary. The twelve online catalogs accessible for research in the collection of Wiesbaden City Libraries are not part of the Mauritius Media Library's offerings.

In summary, the Mauritius Media Library in Wiesbaden is more than just a library. It's a vibrant space that offers Internet access, gaming opportunities for young people, laptop borrowing, and a modern RFID system for easy media management. Whether you're a student, a researcher, or just looking for a place to connect, the Mauritius Media Library has something for everyone.

  1. You can also find a variety of modern gadgets at the Mauritius Media Library, such as smartphones and laptops, available for use or borrowing with a valid library card.
  2. If you're a gaming enthusiast, the library offers four gaming consoles intended for the use of young people, providing regular gaming opportunities outside of regular library hours.
