Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe Expands Electric Refrigeration Portfolio at NUFAM 2023
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH (MTTE) has expanded its electric refrigeration unit portfolio for vehicles, in response to the growing demand for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient transport refrigeration solutions. This expansion is part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' broader Logistics, Thermal & Drive Systems segment, which focuses on logistics, thermal, and drive systems, including heat and cooling products relevant to transportation.
At NUFAM 2023 in Karlsruhe, MTTE is showcasing its expanded electric refrigeration units, alongside other products such as the diesel version TU of the underfloor series and the full-electric transporter unit TEK. The exhibition also features a special exhibition on hydrogen drives and a new outdoor area, as well as a digital preview.
One of the premieres at MTTE's stand is the new full-electric underfloor refrigeration unit TEU for trucks. Additionally, the full-electric trailer refrigeration unit TEF 1500 is making its debut at the show. This unit is available with an external battery and can be configured in different battery sizes, making it a versatile solution for various transport needs.
MTTE Managing Director Björn Reckhorn explains that the company meets the demand for economical and environmentally friendly solutions for transport cooling. The company's electrification strategy responds to the growing demand for emission-free solutions in refrigerated transport. MTTE is not only showcasing its products at NUFAM 2023 but is also expanding its service network and product availability in Europe.
In the outdoor area, MTTE is showcasing its cooling technology in real vehicle applications, including a MAN box truck with a TU diesel underfloor unit, a MAN tractor with the new full-electric TEU machine, and a van with the TEK electric unit. The goal of MTTE's electrification strategy is to enable local emission-free refrigerated transport, especially in urban and regional distribution.
