The electric mobility landscape in Nepal has taken a significant leap with the introduction of the Ather Energy Rizta, a family-oriented, urban mobility scooter. This marks a strategic milestone for Ather Energy as they expand their footprint beyond India.

Key Features of the Ather Rizta

The Ather Rizta, designed for families and urban commuters, boasts a range of impressive features. It comes equipped with battery options, including a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery for the base model and a 3.7 kWh battery pack for the mid-range variant (Rizta S). The scooter offers a competitive range of up to 159 km per full charge with the 3.7 kWh battery, and about 123 km with the 2.9 kWh battery.

The Rizta's motor delivers a power of 4.3 kW with a max torque of 22 Nm, enabling it to reach a top speed of 80 km/h. The scooter weighs 125 kg and offers a practical storage capacity of 56 liters. For added convenience, it features a 7-inch TFT display, Bluetooth call/music control, and built-in Google Maps navigation.

In terms of safety, the Rizta includes LED headlights, daytime running lights, pass light, side-stand alarm, hazard warning indicators, and two power modes. While it does not come with ABS or traction control yet, it does feature SkidControl for improved safety on the roads.

Ather Energy's Expansion in Nepal

Since November 2023, Ather Energy has established a strong presence in Nepal through its local partner, Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd. Nine Experience Centres and six Service Centres have been set up across the country, providing potential customers with the opportunity to test ride and purchase the Ather Rizta.

To support the growing electric vehicle demand in Nepal, Ather Energy has installed 22 fast-charging points under its Ather Grid network. The network is expanding to provide better charging infrastructure, making electric mobility more accessible to the Nepalese public.

Ather Energy's Broader International Ambitions

The launch of the Ather Rizta in Nepal is a testament to Ather Energy's international ambitions. Beyond Nepal and Sri Lanka, where Ather Energy entered the market in December 2024, the company continues to explore opportunities for growth and expansion.

In a bid to boost EV manufacturing and clean mobility ecosystem, Ather Energy has tied up with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in India. This partnership is expected to further strengthen Ather Energy's position as a leader in the electric two-wheeler market.

With the launch of the Ather Rizta in Nepal, Ather Energy aims to win over a wider audience looking for a practical and modern electric mobility solution. The Rizta, the second product by Ather Energy in the Nepalese market, is now available for test rides and purchase across its Nepalese Experience Centres. The expansion in Nepal has been swift and steady, positioning Ather Energy well for regional leadership in electric two-wheelers.

The Ather Energy Rizta, with its impressive technology features and sporty design, is now available for Nepalese sports enthusiasts and urban commuters. The Rizta's advanced technology, including its 7-inch TFT display, Bluetooth compatibility, and navigation system, offers a seamless, modern riding experience. As Ather Energy continues to expand beyond India, sports and technology enthusiasts in Nepal can now experience the future of electric mobility.
