Digital financial service platform, Vult, pioneered by Velmie, is propelling Sierra Leone into the realm of digital banking with its super app, aiming to expand financial access and inclusion.

Sierra Leone has taken a significant stride in digital finance with the launch of Vult, a comprehensive digital banking platform developed by Velmie. This innovative super app, hailed as a game-changer by Slava Ivashkin, CEO of Velmie, is not just an application, but a significant step towards financial empowerment in the country.

Vult offers a user-friendly digital experience, integrating multiple banking and payment functions into a single platform. Users can open and manage multi-currency accounts, enabling financial activities in currencies such as Naira and USD, and enjoy fast and smart payments thanks to Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology.

The app supports sending and receiving money locally and internationally, facilitating cross-border transactions seamlessly. It also provides a secure environment for online and in-person payments, with encryption and password protection ensuring user data safety.

Aminata Bangura, head of product for Vult, expressed pride in creating a solution tailored to the Sierra Leonean market, ready for expansion. The modular and adaptable design of Vult enables rapid deployment and scalability for future growth.

The launch of Vult comes at a time when the World Bank recognises steady improvements in financial inclusion across Sub-Saharan Africa. Paul Shumsky, a notable figure in the industry, described Vult as a "robust foundation for financial empowerment in Africa."

Slava Ivashkin expressed pride in contributing to this transformation, stating that Vult is part of a larger mission to foster genuine, inclusive financial change. The development of Vult was completed in less than six months by Velmie's banking platform, with collaboration from local broadband provider Metro Cable.

Vult offers enhanced financial access to unbanked individuals and dependable tools for those using traditional banking services. However, there is still progress to be made in ensuring equitable access for various groups, including women, low-income individuals, and those with limited education.

Nonetheless, the launch of Vult represents a significant leap for digital finance in Sierra Leone, offering convenience, flexibility, and control for users' financial and lifestyle needs. As Aminata Bangura stated, Vult's technology enables them to provide quality financial services to Sierra Leoneans, with more to come. According to Paul Shumsky, Vult's launch is a major milestone for the African continent.

Mobile money transactions on the Vult platform contribute to financial inclusion in Sierra Leone, making banking and payment services accessible to more individuals. The integration of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology within the app ensures smart and efficient financial activities, fostering a digital finance revolution in Africa.
