Digital economist Ehmann assumes leadership role at Internet Economy Association's capital office
The Association of the Internet Industry, eco, has announced a new leadership change. As of January 1, 2025, Philipp Ehmann will take over as the head of the capital office of eco, focusing on the Politics, Law & Regulation business area.
Ehmann, who has been a valued member of the Berlin eco team for over eight years, brings extensive experience in the political and regulatory work of the association to his new role. His expertise will undoubtedly strengthen eco's strategic position in the capital, particularly in the area of Politics, Law & Regulation.
Ehmann's responsibilities as the head of the capital office of eco do not extend beyond the business area of Politics, Law & Regulation. He will represent the interests of eco's members to political and regulatory decision-makers, specifically within this area. Ehmann will report directly to eco's CEO, Alexander Rabe.
The move does not affect the overall leadership structure of the organization. It does, however, ensure continuity and expertise in the Politics, Law & Regulation business area, following Henning Lesch's departure to eco group's subsidiary DE-CIX.
Meanwhile, Thomas Rickert has been appointed as the new Director for Names & Numbers at eco. His role indicates expertise in internet governance and regulatory frameworks. Rickert engages in policy discussions related to digital regulation, including the implementation of the AI Act and cybersecurity legislation like the NIS 2 Directive.
The new head of the capital office of eco for Politics, Law & Regulation, Ehmann, will undoubtedly contribute to eco's mission of shaping a digital society that benefits everyone.
