Decrease in Demand for Nvidia RTX 50-Series in Germany: Affordable Models, Except RTX 5090, Available at Recommended Prices or Lower
In the bustling German tech scene, the urge for Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs has taken a peculiar dip, except for the mighty RTX 5090. ComputerBase reports a surprising turn of events, with RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 AIB partner models selling at, or even below, their Manufacturer Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs). The RTX 5090, however, remains the holy grail, continually vanishing from store shelves.
A quick glance at the tables reveals an intriguing price shift over the past months. At the end of March, the budget-friendliest RTX 5080 models were priced at €1,169, but last week saw them drop down to €1,119 – a joyous moment for wallet-conscious tech enthusiasts. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 cards followed suit, plunging from €869 and €599, respectively, to €799 and €589 last week – both values under their respective MSRPs.
The RTX 5060 Ti, fresh to the market, has yet to provide pricing data from March, but last week's figures show the cheapest versions falling neatly in line with the MSRP. As for the price dynamics, the median price of the RTX 5080 lingered at €1,430 at the end of March and has since slid down to €1,389. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 have also seen a decrease in their median prices, settling at €950 and €654, respectively – albeit slightly above the MSRPs.
Yet, not all AIB partner models share the same fate, as some continue to hover well above the MSRPs. Nevertheless, the news is promising for buyers, as the average price of AIB-partner cards appears to be swaying closer to the MSRPs (except for the RTX 5080).
Compared to the US market, the German scene seems to be navigating smoother waters, with RTX 50-series GPUs becoming more attainable at or near their MSRPs.
