Cyprus Institutions Introduce Space Business Innovation Center under ERATOSTHENES CoE, to Propel Space Technology Entrepreneurship
The Space BIC by ERATOSTHENES CoE, a business incubation center dedicated to fostering space technology-driven entrepreneurship in Cyprus, has officially launched. This program is part of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence at the Cyprus University of Technology.

The mission of Space BIC is to empower startups and individual entrepreneurs who use satellite data, space technologies, or geoinformatics services to deliver solutions addressing market or societal needs. The program is open to startups less than five years old and teams or individuals intending to establish a company in Cyprus.
The incubation program lasts 24 months and consists of two scheduled cycles, with the second cycle expected to be announced in mid-2026. Each selected participant or team will receive up to €50,000 in De minimis funding without equity concession to develop prototypes, validate technologies, and scale innovative solutions.
Participants will have access to specialized mentorship and technological support, co-working space, and facilities. They will also be part of an innovation ecosystem that encourages open collaboration with public, research, educational, and private organizations. This collaboration aims to shape a robust and interconnected ecosystem in the space sector.
The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, part of the Cyprus University of Technology, aims to be a hub for Earth Observation and space-related research in the eastern Mediterranean region. As such, startups can leverage its expertise and infrastructure.
The Space BIC incubation program is funded by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus. The program is focused on promoting the growth of the space technology sector in Cyprus.
