Y'know what's the unsung hero in power plant operations? Control valves. These bad boys play a pivotal role in connecting, shutting off, and directing service fluids while regulating pressure and flow, and safeguarding pipelines and equipment from funky workings.

It's a combo of a gas turbine and steam turbine used for electricity generation, consisting of a combustion turbine (compressor, combustor, turbine, control system, and auxiliary system), heat recovery boiler, and steam turbine.

Typical Coal-fired Power Generation SystemThese systems have five main components: a combustion system with a boiler as the core, a steam-water system (pumps, feedwater heater, condenser, piping, water wall, and more), an electrical system (steam turbines and primary transformer), and a control system. The first two systems produce high-temp, high-pressure steam, while the electrical system converts that steam's energy into electrical energy. The control system ensures that the system functions safely, properly, and economically.

Binary Cycle Geothermal Power PlantThese advanced geothermal applications utilize a heat exchanger to transfer hot water energy to heat-conducting fluids with low boiling points, resulting in increased efficiency. The water from the earth never meets the turbines, reducing emissions of trace gases into the atmosphere.

Flash Evaporation Geothermal Power PlantThese plants are the most common type, using hot water pumped at high pressure to the surface that, when extracted with pressure vessels with an internal pressure lower than thermal water, turns into steam thanks to the pressure difference. The steam powers a turbine before condensing and finally returning to the geothermal reservoir through an injection well.
