Construction restrictions set for A93 Teublitz until December

The A93 roadway between Teublitz and Ponholz in the direction of Regensburg will undergo resurfacing as part of a large-scale maintenance program to modernize the roadway surfaces of the A93 between Schwarzenfeld and Ponholz. This project, announced by the Federal Highway Authority, is scheduled to start on Saturday, July 26, and is expected to last until approximately December 10.

Traffic Management

During the construction period, traffic management will be required. Typically, one lane in each direction is maintained during road resurfacing projects to minimize disruptions, with the use of temporary traffic lanes or contraflow arrangements. Traffic signals might be installed to manage the flow, especially during peak hours or when lanes are reduced. Depending on the extent of the work, detours might be implemented for smaller vehicles or during nighttime hours when traffic is lighter.

Construction Schedule

The project is usually divided into phases to ensure that work is carried out efficiently while minimizing disruptions. This might include initial preparation, resurfacing, and final layer application. The construction schedule often extends over several weeks or months, depending on the length of the road and weather conditions. Work hours are typically during daylight to ensure safety and visibility, but some night work might occur to minimize traffic impact.

Noise Reduction Details

The new asphalt aims to significantly reduce traffic noise emissions for residents. Temporary noise barriers might be installed to reduce noise levels during construction. Construction activities are often subject to noise regulations, especially during nighttime hours. This might involve limiting the types of machinery used or the hours of operation. Local residents and businesses are often informed about the project timeline and any measures taken to reduce noise pollution.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's advisable to contact the local transportation authority or check their official website for specific details about the A93 road resurfacing project.

It's worth noting that a forest fire was prevented between Teublitz and Burglengenfeld by firefighters, which was not directly related to the road construction.

On the Regensburg-bound carriageway, an additional lane will be routed along the construction site in the direction of Regensburg. On the Weiden-bound carriageway, two lanes will be routed in the direction of Weiden, and one lane will be routed in the direction of Regensburg.

Construction work will be carried out from Monday to Saturday, utilizing daylight hours. The resurfacing is necessary due to increasing damage to the over 24-year-old roadway. No information was provided about the impact on traffic in the direction of Weiden.

The cost of the resurfacing measure is estimated at around 8.7 million euros. Approximately 67,000 square meters of asphalt will be removed and replaced on the A93 roadway.

Stay informed and plan your travels accordingly to ensure a smooth journey during the A93 road resurfacing between Teublitz and Ponholz.

  1. Technology will likely be employed during the A93 road resurfacing project, such as traffic signals to manage the flow, temporary traffic lanes or contraflow arrangements to maintain one lane in each direction, and potentially noise barriers to reduce emissions for nearby residents.
