CII Shaping the Future of Insurance Conference to Explore AI's Impact in 2025
The 2025 Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Shaping the Future of Insurance Conference is set to take place on October 1st, 2025, in London. This year's theme is 'trends, tech, and tempting talent', as the conference focuses on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the insurance sector.
The conference will feature key sessions on AI in underwriting, claims automation, regulation, and career planning. Notable speakers include Professor Richard Susskind OBE, who will deliver the keynote on "AI and the Future of the Insurance Profession". He will share expert insights on AI’s impact on the industry.
Penny Jones, Responsible AI Lead at Zurich, will present on "AI in Underwriting: Smarter Risk, Sharper Decisions", focusing on how AI improves underwriting accuracy and efficiency. Paul O’Brien from Davies Group will discuss AI’s role in claims for enhanced speed, service, and smarter claim resolutions.
A session on navigating AI regulation titled "What Insurance Professionals Need to Know" will address the evolving regulatory landscape around AI use in insurance. Adam Harper, CII’s Director of Strategy, Advocacy and Professional Standards, will lead a session on career planning and progression using the CII Professional Map to guide future skill development.
The conference program emphasizes both cutting-edge AI innovations and their human and ethical impacts, offering attendees practical insights into AI’s role in day-to-day work and long-term career development within insurance.
