Children exhibiting digital creations: every second participant in the "PRO_IDEI" initiative demonstrated a digital project to the experts
The Russian telecommunications company, Rostelecom, offered support to participants of the PRO_IDEAS meetup at an additional education center in the Republic of Komi. The event, held at the House of Nationalities, drew 36 students from Syktyvkar's and Ukhta's children's technoparks and digital education centers. In total, 14 projects were presented, with four available online as websites, apps, and Telegram channels, and two using virtual reality technology.
Darya Geiden, a project activities specialist at the Kvantorium children's technopark, noted that the creative-technological children's projects' defense marked the end of the academic year. The jury, consisting of experts and companies, evaluated the projects' relevance and significance. The project authors benefited from the valuable feedback, which they could apply to future competitions, both regional and national.
Igor Prozorov, Director of Mass Segment Operations at PАО "Rostelecom," stated that the company had been part of the meetup as experts for several years. Prozorov was impressed by the children's ability to adapt to new technologies and create innovative solutions. He was particularly impressed with Mistymap, an interactive exploration app for Syktyvkar, and "The Great Patriotic Timeline," a website with information and tests about the Great Patriotic War. Rostelecom provided memorable gifts to the authors of these projects, including promo codes for their online cinema, Wink, where they released a relevant documentary film for the occasion.
The winner of the PRO_IDEAS meetup was the project "DormBuddy: Finding the Perfect Roommate for Students," an artificial intelligence-based app aimed at helping inogorodnye students adapt successfully and improve the quality of their lives during their studies.
