Cato Networks Announces Eyal Heiman as its New Chief Technology Officer, advancing AI integration in its platform and expanding global research and development efforts.
Cato Networks Promotes Eyal Heiman to Chief Technology Officer
Cato Networks, a leading provider of enterprise security and networking solutions, has announced the promotion of Eyal Heiman to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Heiman, who has been with Cato for the past six years, most recently as Vice President of Engineering, will now lead the company's technological vision and strategy.
In his new role, Heiman will be responsible for driving innovation through AI, expanding platform capabilities, and managing a significant global engineering team. He has already demonstrated his leadership in these areas, having led Cato's engineering group and global R&D organization for several years.
Heiman's contributions at Cato Networks include scaling and expanding the Cato SASE platform by enhancing its security and networking capabilities and embedding AI-driven innovations at the core of the platform architecture. Under his leadership, Cato has integrated platform-native AI features such as autonomous posture management, AI-assisted incident detection, and the safe enablement of large language model (LLM) use within enterprise environments. These advances help chief information officers (CIOs) and chief information security officers (CISOs) simplify operations, reduce risks, and optimize performance at scale.
The Prague R&D center, a fast-growing hub under Heiman's leadership, is helping accelerate Cato's roadmap across security, networking, and AI. The expansion of Cato Networks' Prague R&D site marks a key step in Cato's European growth and a strategic investment in the next generation of SASE platforms. Heiman will continue to oversee more than 400 developers across Cato's Israeli headquarters and its Prague R&D center.
Shlomo Kramer, co-founder and CEO of Cato Networks, stated that Heiman has played a key role in evolving Cato's platform, scaling it, expanding its capabilities across security and networking, and embedding AI at the heart of its architecture. This promotion recognizes Heiman's leadership and reinforces Cato's investment in AI-driven innovation, platform scale, and global engineering talent.
Cato Networks' SASE leader architecture is recognized for its unified platform architecture, innovation pace, and customer-centric execution. The company recently announced a $359 million funding round, bringing its total funding to over $1 billion and its valuation to $4.8 billion. Cato Networks currently serves over 3,500 enterprise customers across more than 190 countries.
In August 2025, Eyal Heiman takes on his new role as CTO of Cato Networks. His appointment underscores the company's commitment to building world-class technology from within.
