Casio Launches Retro Digital Desk Clock in Japan

Casio is introducing a distinctive desk clock in Japan, a contemporary interpretation of its iconic '80s digital watch, the A158WA. The new clock, measuring 102mm x 117mm and 48mm thick, weighs around 6.5oz and is slated to hit stores on October 25, priced at 4,378 yen (~$30).

The Casio desk clock, a steel variant of the black resin F91W, maintains the retro appeal of the original A158WA. It flaunts an alarm with five volume settings and a snooze button for those who need a gentle wake-up call. Furthermore, it incorporates an automatic calendar, thermometer, and humidity sensor, making it a versatile desk companion.

Nevertheless, unlike the A158WA watch, this desk clock lacks a stopwatch feature or hourly chime. It is radio-controlled for precise timekeeping, but manual adjustment is required for use in the United States. The clock employs amber LEDs for nighttime visibility and operates on a pair of AA batteries, with an estimated battery life of approximately a year.

The Casio desk clock, exclusive to Japan, provides a fusion of nostalgia and functionality. Its unique features and retro design make it an attractive choice for those aiming to infuse their workspace with a touch of '80s charm.
