Captures Hearts and Wallets Continuously, Both in Japan and on a Global Scale with Its Camera
In the ever-evolving landscape of Japan's mirrorless camera market, Sony continues to hold a strong position, with Fujifilm making steady progress.
According to the latest sales data from Kitamura, Sony regained a spot in the top-10 in September 2025, after Canon's absence in August. The Sony A7C II, along with other models, maintained a firm presence on the best-sellers list. Interestingly, Sony's A6400 and A6700 also continued to be popular choices.
The Sony ZV-E10 kit ranked third at Kitamura in August 2025, and the A7 IV followed closely in second place. The Sony A7C II, in fact, secured the top spot as the best-selling camera at Kitamura for the month.
Meanwhile, Fujifilm's X-T5 and X-M5 have shown strong demand, with both kits landing in the top ten at Kitamura in August. The X-E5 kit with XF23mm lens, a niche, rangefinder-style camera favoured by street photographers and enthusiasts, also made an appearance. However, it did not make it to the best-sellers list.
Canon, on the other hand, was completely absent from Kitamura's August 2025 best-sellers list, with no models appearing. The EOS R10 kit, which was among the best-sellers at Yodobashi in July 2025, was not present at Kitamura in August.
Nikon made a presence with the Z50II and Z30 double zoom kits, placing in the best-sellers list at Kitamura in August.
As the market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Sony and Fujifilm's positions develop, and whether Canon and Nikon can regain lost ground.
