BYD Launches 24/7 Roadside Assistance Program in Australia
BYD initiates a nationwide roadside assistance program in collaboration with motoring organizations across Australia.
Chinese electric automaker BYD has announced the launch of a nationwide roadside assistance program in Australia, aimed at providing peace of mind to its drivers. The program, which will be operational 24/7, is a partnership between BYD and Australian Motoring Services (AMS), a joint venture of major Australian motoring clubs including NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, and RACT.
The roadside assistance program covers a wide range of incidents such as flat batteries, tyre changes, towing services, and more. AMS teams, known for their experience, expertise, and well-equipped vehicles, are ready to respond to various roadside incidents.
Stephen Collins, COO of BYD Australia, stated that the focus is on delivering peace of mind to every BYD driver. He also mentioned plans to triple the dealer network and double the size of the customer service team as part of several initiatives to strengthen the customer's experience.
Rebecca Stenhouse, CEO of AMS, highlighted the importance of combining BYD's innovation with AMS's national service capabilities to help drivers travel confidently. She emphasized that the partnership brings together innovation and national service capability to ensure drivers can travel with confidence.
Customers purchasing a new BYD vehicle from July 22, 2025, will receive a complementary 12-month Roadside Assistance membership. The membership can be renewed annually.
BYD has recently reclaimed control of its sales distribution centres in Australia, which is expected to further enhance the customer experience.
