In 1971, Don Burris founded Burris Optics with a mission to improve riflescope performance, marking the beginning of a journey that would become an integral part of the American hunting community's cultural fabric. Fast forward half a century, and Burris Optics continues to innovate, introducing the fifth-generation Fullfield riflescope for 2025.

The story of Burris Optics is one of continuous evolution. The company's first foray into the world of optics came in 1975 with the introduction of the Fullfield line of riflescopes. These groundbreaking scopes offered 53 percent more field of view (FOV) than conventional scopes, providing hunters with a significant advantage in the field.

Over the next four years, the Fullfield riflescopes were meticulously developed before their market release. In 1977, Burris introduced Hi-Lume lenses into its variable-power scope line, enhancing visibility by 20 percent. This innovation, combined with the wide FOV, quickly made the Fullfield riflescopes a favourite among passionate and demanding hunters, a tradition that has been carried on through multiple generations.

Throughout the years, Burris Optics has continued to refine and expand its product line. In 1980, the company introduced fixed-power models offering long eye relief for Model 1894 Winchesters and pistols, as well as Fullfield "mini-scope" variants for carbines and compact rifles.

The fourth generation of Burris Fullfield Riflescopes was released in 2019, retaining the wide FOV characteristics that the Burris legend was built upon while delivering the performance every shooter expects. Now, with the fifth-generation Fullfield riflescope, Burris maintains its "hunter first" approach to engineering, ensuring that the needs of the field are at the forefront of its design.

Today, Burris Optics remains based in Greeley, Colo., one of more than 50 subsidiaries of Beretta Holding Group. With a workforce of over 6,200 employees across the globe, Beretta Holding Group continues to support Burris Optics in its mission to revolutionise the hunting industry.

As Burris Optics looks towards the future, it does so with a rich history of innovation and a commitment to serving the needs of hunters. The fifth-generation Fullfield riflescope is a testament to this dedication, offering the same wide FOV and Hi-Lume lenses that have made Burris Optics a staple in the hunting community for half a century.

Whether you're a seasoned hunter or a newcomer to the sport, Burris Optics' fifth-generation Fullfield riflescope is a tool that can help you make the most of your time in the field. With its unparalleled performance and commitment to the hunting community, Burris Optics continues to set the standard for riflescopes in the 21st century.
