Breitling joins forces with Martini Racing in the creation of the most retro Top Time Chronograph watches
New Breitling Top Time B01 Watches Embrace Modern-Retro Charm
Breitling is set to release a trio of new Top Time watches on April 11, priced at $7,700 each. These timepieces, featuring retro-style cushion cases, offer a unique blend of historic design cues and contemporary watchmaking technology.
The new Top Time watches boast a case diameter of 38mm, making them sleek and wearable. Their distinctive vintage-modern look is further accentuated by the retro-inspired cushion shape of the case. The subdials on these watches are squircle-shaped, a fusion of square and circular forms that adds to their uniqueness.
The dial design of the Top Time B01 watches takes inspiration from classic chronographs, with a surfboard layout that emphasizes the retro feel. The watches are powered by Breitling’s in-house automatic Caliber 01, known for its reliability and a 70-hour power reserve.
Each watch in the Top Time B01 collection comes with a leather strap in blue, green, or tan, providing a perfect complement to the watch's design. The collection is limited to 750 units for each variant.
One of the new Top Time watches features colours reminiscent of the Martini Racing motorsport brand - dark blue, light blue, and red. This watch has a white dial background, a dark blue center patch connecting the chronograph registers, and a dark blue minute track.
In addition to the Martini Racing-inspired watch, there are two other rally-inspired variants, one with a green dial and strap, and another with a black dial and tan strap.
The Top Time series has a cult following among Breitling's models, despite the flagship Navitimer and Chronomat models receiving more attention. The series does not exclusively partner with any specific auto brand, allowing Breitling to collaborate with various companies. In the past, the Top Time series has been inspired by classic nameplates such as Chevy, Deus, Ford, and Shelby.
These new Top Time watches have a water resistance of 100m, offering robust protection for everyday use. The case thickness is 13.3mm, and the lug-to-lug measures 44.1mm. The watches have a cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, enhancing legibility and scratch resistance.
