**Boris FX Unveils Powerful Updates for Mocha Pro and Silhouette**
In a move that will undoubtedly excite VFX artists and filmmakers, Boris FX has released new versions of its renowned tools Mocha Pro and Silhouette. These updates offer a host of features designed to streamline workflows and enhance the production of VFX-heavy films and projects.
**Mocha Pro 2023** continues to shine with its sophisticated rotoscoping and planar tracking capabilities. The latest version boasts new tools that significantly reduce the time spent tracking complicated shots and produce more organic rotoscoping results. Notably, the Remove Module allows users to create a single layer to remove unwanted moving objects on locked or static shots without the need for tracking. Additionally, the falloff option for selection tools makes rotoscoping more organic, while the option to split splines into new layers simplifies the manipulation of complex shots.
Meanwhile, **Silhouette 2023** introduces its first internally-developed machine learning (ML) technology, aiding artists in their work. The Stability node integrates a deep-learning text-to-image model, enabling digital paint artists to use inpaint, outpaint, or generate images from scratch using text prompts. Furthermore, the Regrain node samples the source image's grain, regenerates it, and randomizes it to add it back into a degrained composite. The Denoiser ML node, on the other hand, uses machine learning techniques to eliminate unwanted noise from images while preserving critical features.
Boris Yamnitsky, founder and CEO of Boris FX, emphasised that the main goal of the new releases is to provide artists with efficient workflows. Katie Morris, VFX artist and trainer, praised the new Motion Blur Controller Expression Action in Silhouette 2023 for managing motion blur settings efficiently.
Both Silhouette and Mocha Pro are available as plugins for popular video software platforms or as standalone applications. They also offer branding toolkits for download. For those looking to purchase either tool, there is a 25% discount available until Friday, April 28th, at midnight PDT.
