Boosted Mobile Network Coverage in Bad Dürkheim by Telekom

Deutsche Telekom AG has stepped up its game in the Bad Dürkheim district, enhancing mobile network coverage and internet speeds for residents and businesses alike. The telecommunications giant, recognised as having the best mobile network in Germany by expert magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest, has taken four new antenna sites into operation over the past four weeks.

These new sites, built by Deutsche Funkturm, are strategically placed in Weidenthal, which also serves the area along the Ludwigshafen-Saarbrücken railway line. Moreover, existing mobile antenna sites have been modernized in Kirchheim an der Weinstraße, Obrigheim (Pfalz), Weidenthal, and Weisenheim am Berg.

The improvements extend to essential emergency services, with Telekom's mobile sites in the district now supporting the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system. AML automatically transmits the caller's location to the rescue control centre during emergency calls to 112, while Cell Broadcast sends danger alerts to mobile phones in the affected radio cell, such as in cases of major fires, gas explosions, or floods.

Looking ahead, Deutsche Telekom plans to significantly enhance its mobile network coverage in the Bad Dürkheim district over the next three years. The expansion focuses on expanding 5G availability as well as improving overall network capacity and speed. Landlords interested in offering a site for new mobile sites can reach out to Deutsche Telekom’s network infrastructure team or their site acquisition department.

The process involves:

  1. Contacting Deutsche Telekom directly via their dedicated network site acquisition channels or through their website contact forms.
  2. Providing details about the property, such as location, size, accessibility, and any existing structures that can support antennas.
  3. Collaborating on site evaluation, where technical and environmental feasibility assessments will be conducted by Deutsche Telekom.
  4. Negotiating lease or rental agreements if the site is approved for installation.

Landlords who offer areas for new mobile sites can expect a long-term, location-appropriate rent. For more information about the availability of mobile networks in a district, individuals can visit www.telekom.de/netzausbau.

In a statement, Julia della Peruta, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, highlighted the increasing bandwidth demand, which is growing by around 30% per year. To keep up with this pace, they are expanding 34 mobile sites with LTE or 5G, aiming to cover 99% of the district's population with fast mobile internet. Currently, Telekom operates 60 mobile sites in the Bad Dürkheim district, with plans to add 14 more over the next three years.

Interested parties can offer a site for a rooftop or mast location by contacting Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

Technology advancements are a key focus in Deutsche Telekom's expansion plans, with the aim of covering 99% of the Bad Dürkheim district's population with fast mobile internet through the addition of 14 new LTE or 5G mobile sites over the next three years.
