Boom's Power Rangers Comics Transform into a Reboot Version

Title: Power Rangers Prime: A New Dawn for the Spandex-Clad Heroes

Embrace the fresh chapter in the Power Rangers universe as these iconic '90s characters leap into the world of comics! The latest addition to the Power Rangers comic book lineup, Power Rangers Prime, is set to introduce an entirely new team, led by Lauren Shiba, under the watchful eye of writer Melissa Flores and Iron Fist artist Michael Yg.

Ready to unveil secrets? While munching on popcorn, our fellow nerds at IGN managed to sneak a peek at what Power Rangers Prime is all about. This comic book will be a fresh start, taking the series in a whole new direction, and it's dropping on November 13.

Lauren Shiba, formerly the secondary Red Ranger from Power Rangers Samurai, finds herself in an action-packed adventure as she evades a crew of Eltarian hunters. Before we know it, she finds herself in a familiar yet altered Angel Grove, where Zordon is missing. As for whom else powers up in this new saga? Flores wasn't ready to divulge the details, but she did mention characters from Power Rangers Megaforce and Power Rangers Jungle Fury making appearances. But don't expect these characters to show up in the same way they did in their former series.

"The entire zeitgeist of Power Rangers is at our disposal," Flores said with a smirk. "We’re looking at every single character of Power Rangers, not just in Mighty Morphin, but all over the place." The interactions between these classic characters and the new team will largely depend on their perspective and feelings about the Power Rangers as a whole. The creative team wants to create a universe where the consequences of the past continue to shape the present, taking the series to a whole new level.

Unlike some previous Power Rangers comic series, Power Rangers Prime aims to distance itself from the television series, becoming a standalone entity. The creative team is eager to provide a jumping-on point for new readers, allowing them to explore the core of what makes Power Rangers special without worrying about syncing up with the TV show. Said Alyssa Gronowitz, Power Rangers Prime allows the creative team "an opportunity to distill the core of what is special about Power Rangers and to explore that in a very focused way."

So, fasten your seat belts, fellow Power Rangers fans, as we embark on a new journey with this latest comic book series. Who knows? Perhaps we might find some hidden Easter eggs and secrets along the way! For more information about Power Rangers Prime, check out the full conversation with Flores and Gronowitz here!
