BCLC designates Mark Goldberg as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Business Technology
Unleashing the Tech Titan: Mark Goldberg, the New CIO at BC Lottery Corporation
Get ready to roll the dice with Mark Goldberg! The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has set its stakes high with the appointment of this industry veteran as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President of Business Technology.
Gearing Up for Greatness
With over two decades of IT prowess, Goldberg is all set to use his transformation leadership skills to power BCLC's lottery, casino, and sports betting operations, starting January 23, 2023. His proven success in scaling businesses with the help of information technology has earned him a warm welcome from BCLC's president and CEO, Pat Davis, who's confident that Goldberg's chops will bring "exceptional player experiences" to life.
Although Goldberg will be based in BCLC's Vancouver office, he'll need his passport handy, as a major chunk of the Business Technology division employees are stationed at the head office in Kamloops. Goldberg's primary mission? Growing BCLC's tech footprint far and wide.
Davis isn't holding back when it comes to the impact tech has on BCLC's everyday ops. From lottery ticket validation to running the complex network of slot machines at the casinos and community gaming centers, technology is at the heart of it all. Add to that the infrastructure of BCLC's regulated gambling website, PlayNow, and it's clear that tech is non-negotiable for BCLC.
Saskatchewan Steps Up, and So Does BCLC
Just a few days prior to Goldberg's announcement, BCLC gave their players a reason to cheer in Saskatchewan, Canada, as the PlayNow.com product, powered by OpenBet's Player Account Management (PAM) and sportsbook solutions, was now live in the province. Looks like the fun doesn't stop at BC's borders!
Shuffling the Management Deck
Goldberg's appointment is the latest ace up BCLC's sleeve, following the appointment of Pat Davis as President and CEO in the previous year. Davis took over from Lynda Cavanaugh, who had been a temporary appointee in a role the Board of Directors filled at the beginning of 2021.
In the deck of BCLC's management team, Davis was joined by Dan Beebe, the new Chief Operating Officer, and Sandra Austin, the newly-appointed Chief People Officer, by the time of Davis’ appointment.
Keep an eye on BCLC as they continue to stack the deck with seasoned industry veterans who know the game. With Goldberg at the helm, there's no doubt we're in for a wild ride!
In his new role at BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC), Mark Goldberg will leverage his expertise in technology to transform the operations of lottery, casino, and sports betting sectors. Goldberg's mission, starting from January 23, 2023, is to grow BCLC's tech footprint, with an emphasis on providing exceptional player experiences, as the corporation continues to embrace technology in various aspects of its operations.
