Battlefield 6 Set to Launch Next Year
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the release of Battlefield 6, a highly-anticipated next-generation shooting game. The game, scheduled for release on October 10, 2025, will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms, skipping last-gen consoles[1][3].
The multiplayer reveal event for Battlefield 6 is set for July 31, 2025, starting at 11:30 AM Pacific Time (2:30 PM Eastern Time). This reveal will be livestreamed on Battlefield's YouTube and Twitch channels. The event will showcase new and returning multiplayer modes, including the potential introduction of a battle royale mode and details on the iconic classes[2][4]. Following this reveal, developers and content creators will stream live gameplay of the new multiplayer suite.
Two editions will be available at launch: a Standard Edition and a digital Phantom (Deluxe) Edition with additional in-game content. Both editions will release simultaneously without early access[1].
Battlefield 6 will make a comeback after a four-year gap and promises to deliver intense firefights across land and air with tanks, jets, and destroyed buildings in the gameplay. It will bring back classic features such as traditional class systems and 64-player multiplayer battles[5].
The game is set against the backdrop of a near-future global conflict. A private military force called Pax Armata, reportedly backed by former NATO states, is introduced in Battlefield 6. The game's narrative includes dramatic sequences such as an attack on the USA, with the Brooklyn Bridge in ruins[6].
Interestingly, Battlefield 6 will feature a full-fledged single-player campaign, a feature missing in Battlefield 2042. If reports are accurate, the game may debut globally in October[7]. A follow-up event for Battlefield 6, featuring streamers and creators with the first ever gameplay streams, is planned for August 2[8].
