Bank of Russia in Magadan Opens Doors to Public, Offering Interactive Money Lessons
The PNC Bank in Magadan opened its doors to the public on Saturday, September 27, for its annual Open Doors Day. The event, overseen by Andrei Antipov, Head of the Magadan Branch, provided an interactive educational program for visitors of all ages, aiming to educate about money, banking, finance, and cybersecurity.
Visitors had the opportunity to examine banknotes for authenticity and participate in lectures and games. A stylized mid-20th-century bank office was set up, allowing guests to experience what it was like to work in a PNC Bank during that era. Rare coins and banknotes were on display, offering a glimpse into the history of money and the development of the monetary system.
The event also delved into the origin of the first money, providing context for the evolution of currency. Irina Alexandrovna Klyueva, Head of the Magadan branch, was present to guide visitors through the exhibits and answer questions.
The PNC Bank Museum in Magadan typically operates on weekdays by prior registration. However, the Open Doors Day offered a unique chance for the public to engage with the institution's history and learn about the important role it plays in the economy.
