Auto manufacturers VW, Skoda, and Cupra reduced their prices, taking advantage of electric vehicle (EV) grants.
Volkswagen, Skoda, and Cupra have announced a new Grant Guarantee scheme, offering customers a guaranteed £1,500 discount on selected electric vehicles. The offer applies to the Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, and Volkswagen ID models, and is valid for orders placed between August 1 and August 31, 2025, with delivery required from September 1, 2025, onward with the new "75" registration plate.
The scheme aims to provide price certainty amid ongoing government grant eligibility uncertainties and reflects Volkswagen Group's aim to promote affordable electric vehicle adoption ahead of formal government grant finalization.
Eligible Models
The Grant Guarantee applies to various models within the Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, and Volkswagen ID ranges. For the Skoda Enyaq, the standard versions (excluding coupe or sportier variants) are eligible. The Cupra Born V1, V2, and V3 models with 59 kWh, 77 kWh, and 79 kWh batteries are also included (excluding sportier trims and coupe-SUVs). The Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 standard models are eligible, excluding sporty GTX and coupe-SUV ID.5 variants.
Customer Eligibility
The offer is open to retail customers, whether they choose to purchase their vehicle outright or opt for PCP finance. It's important to note that customers cannot claim both the manufacturer grant and the government grant simultaneously.
Guarantee Details
Under the Grant Guarantee, customers receive a £1,500 discount regardless of whether the UK Government's Electric Car Grant is awarded to the vehicle. All deals are subject to credit approval, availability, excess mileage limits (for PCP), and general terms and conditions apply. Applicants must be UK residents aged 18 or over, with finance subject to status and guarantees possibly required.
Exclusions
Sportier trims (GTX, vRS, VZ), coupe-SUV models (Cupra Tavascan, Skoda Enyaq Coupe, Volkswagen ID.5), and other non-listed versions are not part of the scheme.
Test Drive and Savings
Customers can book a Skoda Enyaq test drive now, and the test drive booking process takes just two minutes. The customer savings for the mentioned models under the Grant Guarantee range from £1,500. The Cupra Born now starts from £34,190, the Skoda Elroq comes in at £30,010, the Enyaq at £45,760, the Volkswagen ID.3 is now priced from £29,360, and the ID.4 from £38,090.
With the Grant Guarantee, customers can enjoy the benefits of electric vehicles without worrying about the potential impact of government grant changes on their purchase price. To be eligible, customers must order a car between August 1 and August 31 and take delivery with the new "75" plate from September 1.
Technology plays a key role in the eligible models under the Grant Guarantee scheme, as the discount applies to electric vehicles such as the Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, and Volkswagen ID models, which employ advanced battery technology.
In addition to the guaranteed finance discount of £1,500, customers also benefit from the latest advancements in technology, including improved range, faster charging times, and innovative features that enhance the driving experience.
