Amazon introduces e-book presents for the festive season
Amazon has introduced a new eBook gifting program, allowing customers to purchase and send digital books as gifts to other Amazon users. This service, available during the holiday season, provides a convenient way to share the joy of reading with friends and family.
To use the program, simply buy an eBook, select the "Give as a Gift" option, and enter the recipient's email address. The recipient will receive a link to redeem the eBook, which can be added to their Amazon Kindle library or account.
The gifted eBooks can be read on a variety of devices and platforms. These include Amazon Kindle eReaders, such as the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis, and basic Kindle devices, as well as Kindle apps available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, Kindle Cloud Reader on web browsers, and Amazon Fire tablets.
Amazon's proprietary eBook formats like AZW and KFX ensure seamless reading of gifted eBooks within Amazon's ecosystem. Devices outside the Amazon ecosystem, such as Barnes & Noble Nook eReaders, may not natively support Kindle gifted eBooks due to incompatible file formats and DRM restrictions.
However, the recipient of the eBook gift does not need to own a Kindle device to enjoy the book. They can read it on any platform with Kindle apps, including Blackberry, Android, and iOS devices.
Michael Kozlowski, an expert in audiobooks, e-books, and e-readers, has been writing about these topics for the past eighteen years. He resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
With over 725,000 current eBooks available on Amazon's store, customers have a wide range of options to choose from when selecting a gift. The new feature to use this program is located below the "Buy Now with One Click" option.
Please note that due to high demand during the holiday season, the Kindle is currently sold out and no new orders can be made on Amazon.
This new eBook gifting program is similar to Barnes and Noble's "Lendme" feature for sharing eBooks, offering a convenient and thoughtful way to gift books this holiday season.
This new eBook gifting program on Amazon allows customers to smoothly send digital books as gifts during the holiday season, enhancing their lifestyle and entertainment options with the latest technology. The recipient can read the gifted eBook on several devices, such as Kindle eReaders like the Paperwhite, Oasis, and basic Kindle devices, or via Kindle apps on iOS and Android smartphones, tablets, web browsers, and Amazon Fire tablets.
